Above two are looking out our rear apartment balcony, looking south. The very top one is looking out the front or north balcony. The dudes waiting for the UN bus.
Hi, Thanks for all the pics Kirk. Seems that you will have a great career as a photographer once you retire. The vegetation is very sparse. Do you know what the precipitation is like there? Has is rained since your arrival? This must be in the upper class neighbourhood. Take care
Sharon there is a rainy season here in Khartoum. It goes from about noon on the 03July to about 12:30 pm same day.:) It hasn't rained since we have been here in fact there has only been one day since that I have seen any clouds in the sky and that was in AM and by noon they were all gone. We are smack in the middle of the desert here.
Conversely in the south, the rainy season starts in early may and goes to late september october. Yuk!! Can you say mud bog?
You are right they call it garden city and it is where the Iragi embassy is pretty cool eh? The one photo off the balcony looking south is straight towards the Iraqi embassy.
